退化性膝関節炎は老人男女性の身体障害の五大原因の一つに数えられます。
この病気にかかつたすべての成人の２５％は何等かの手術を受けています。
その内最も頻繁に施行されるのは 膝全関節置換術です。



現在本病の正確な發生原因に関する知識が欠如している為、NSAIDs（非ステロイド鎮痛消炎劑）、
グルコサミン、ヒアルロン酸注射等を含む現在一般的に行われている治療法の中何れも有效な物はない。

KHPOとは世界中の退化性膝関節炎の治療法の中では新しい概念です。
この概念は私共の10年間の臨床經驗と基礎医学的研究の結果から導き出されて概念化されたものです。
この概念の主な相違点は我々は大部分の退化性膝関節炎は不可逆的変化が生ずる以前の時期に我々が処置すれば必ず治癒可能だと信ずる点です。この革命的概念は我々が多くの膝関節退化性病変をひき起す原因となる諸要素を発見したことに基づくのです。その結果私共の関節病中心ではこれらの 諸要素を根絕して膝関節の軟骨再生の環境改善に役立つ今までにない新しい “関節鏡による関節軟骨再生促進手術”（Arthroscopic Cartilage Regeneration Facilitating Procedure, ACRFP）が開発されました。

“膝関節健康促進法”は以下の3点を包括します：
１　変性した膝の精査により病状を見極め進展度を把握する
２　関節鏡による関節軟骨再生促進手術（ACRFP）
３　術後軟骨再生を促進する為の各種輔助治療
